“He was small but had a tremendous knack for horsing around and fooling around and joking. All good clean stuff, but just playing jokes all the time. We had a High-Y club that met every Thursday night at church and we’d come down there and play basketball and then we’d have a meeting and go home. Brain-wise, he was a leader. Physically, you know, if you chose him for athletic ability, he’d be in the middle. The name of our group was The Tasu and Bob had a book that he kept detailed records of our get-togethers, personal records and addresses and phone numbers of all the guys, 14 fellas, “Group Experience Record.” We always met at the First Congregational Church. And we always had an adult leader. And he got all that down.
