I never brought it up [stopping teaching]. I just let him go on. He was trying to do what he could. He was doing his work. He was his usual good self. As usual they loved him, probably even more because it was sympathetic. And I just let him be and he just went his way. He did his own courses and he just tried the best he could to finish what he started. In terms of running a department there was nothing to make me think we better line up some strategic reserves and be ready to replace him. That never entered my head.
